Twenty Weeks

For the past six weeks, it has been a very interesting and intellectual phase for me. I gained further knowledge about business, relationships and I gained new friends. Why so?

I’m back to my alma mater and currently attending UP ISSI’s 89th Manager’s Course. The Manager’s Course is a 20-week program dubbed as a compressed, non-formal MBA geared to equip top and middle managers from various industries to enhance organization, marketing, production, financial and information management skills.

I also have been exposed to different ways of thinking. My classmates have been very open to share all of their thoughts about certain things. For my part, the experience is a delight. As if I’m back in college with countless readings, brainstorming and nosebleeds. Fifteen more weeks and it seems a bit too far yet time flies fast nowadays.

Anyhow, with the numerous readings, I am sure every Friday is a cram day! All the same, knowledge is power and with our technical and the necessary management skills, we will surely increase our assets as managers.

Oops, I need to start browsing for Saturday’s module. I wonder if we will have a good one this time?

A New Chapter

I am currently swamped with schoolwork aside from the usual work load and was really wishing to have a break with some friends. As I was rushing some inputs to a group presentation on the next class, I got a message from Elline.

At first I was kidding with her and was surprised she’s not at work. I asked her why and she gave me a few bogus reasons and then she dropped the bomb.

She’s leaving tonight for Singapore and will be starting with her new work in Nanyang Technological University, I was like, huwat?!

Elline resigned from her work, a work she’s been with for almost 13 years and will be starting to work for a very different work environment.

I am sad. Honestly, really sad. I’m not talking or chatting with Elline since she mentioned that her flight is for tonight and I haven’t seen her since Mary Ann’s birthday treat.

I am also happy. Happy for her new career and workplace and maybe she’ll find her Prince Charming in Jurong. Happy as well since we can visit her in Singapore and enjoy the sights.

I’m used to having her near my area. She’s just a cab away from me. A phone call away if I want to rant or rave a few stuff. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be 1,490 miles apart. It would take me 4 hours to see her rather than the usual 15 minutes.

Elline, I’ll miss you. As I write this one, I can’t help but cry.

Laurie, Mary Ann’s younger sister, told me that we really are following the steps of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants storyline. From four, we are now down to two. Yet, even if will be divided again in distance, I do hope the friendship will stay the same.

Elline – it saddens me to learn that you are leaving but still good luck on your journey. I wish you all the best.

Tough Friendship

  1. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you
  2. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in
  3. When you are scared -- we will high tail it out of here.
  4. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
  5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!
  6. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
  7. When you fall -- I'll pick you up and dust you off.
  8. This is my oath...I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask – because you are my FRIEND!
Friendship is like peeing your pants - everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

Sometimes a friend is there to pick you up when you crash. How sweet!

Happy Valentine's!

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

Wishing you all sweet treats and fun surprises today and every day all year long.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Tagged!

I got tagged in Facebook more than three times for this exercise which is why I’m sharing this to everybody today. I wanted to answer the questionnaire seriously but as I was typing away the first tags, I got tired and decided to just write what comes in mind my first.

Here goes…

Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

(To do this, go to "notes" under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)

  1. I love my siblings to the max.
  2. I always read the Entertainment section first in the daily newspaper.
  3. I do have Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's Disease) and that is the reason why I am so chubby.
  4. I love traveling.

  9. I love sending greeting cards to friends and families. I never forget a birthday even anniversaries. You will definitely receive a greeting (online, post or a call) on your special day.
  10. I love taking pictures. I consider them my treasures. I cannot leave home without a camera.
  11. I still heart Joseph Joachim De Leon.
  12. I do love good food with good conversations. Lunch/dinner for me can last for more than two hours with good friends.
  13. I love watching movies. I always go for the first full show during opening day.
  14. I heart dark chocolates.
  15. I collected the Sweet Dreams Series during Elementary and High School days.
  16. If I have been away in the Philippines for a long time, the first viand that I would like to eat is chicken pork adobo and pritong galunggong!
  17. I am a gadget person in moderation. I would love to have the latest gadgets if it will serve a purpose in my day-to-day activities.
  18. I still keep my childhood toy named Niño.
  19. I am such an emotional person that I cry easily.
  20. Since I so love my schools, I can still sing the school hymn with vigor and enthusiasm.
  21. I heart Danny McCoy, Seth Cohen and Nate Archibald.

  23. I have a small pillow as my security blanket when I sleep.
  24. I love wearing high-heeled shoes.
  25. My favorite scent comes from Ralph Lauren.
The result? Pretty much what I am in a nutshell!
